I would highly recommend seeing it at least 2, if not 3 times (which is a good excuses to share the experience with other friends of yours who haven't seen it yet!) I'm looking forward to seeing it a third time because I know that there are still many parts that I've missed.Breaking into the mainstream at 30 years of age, Teezo knows he’s an unorthodox character. Amazingly, I saw a COMPLETELY different show the second time around, save one 5 minute duplicate bit, and the final scene (where everyone is drawn together in one room). This helped me make initial decisions on who to follow, but I ended up following other characters, too (especially if there weren't crowds of other attendees around them: I'm short, so I often couldn't see past people unless I forced my way to the front - don't be shy about doing that if you have to). Before I went this second time, I discovered that there are good pages at Wikipedia, and at Playbill, that give you an overview of the characters and their arcs. that the play goes through its cycle three times during the evening (so arrive as early as possible to see as much as you can, even if it means standing in line) - that I should choose an actor to follow in order to experience their thread of the narrative, and if any of it starts to repeat, (or if I see another character whose action seems more interesting), to start to follow any other actor at any time. Well, I completely disagree with that advice, and I feel that I missed out on a HUGE part of the experience by not knowing: - that it was loosely based on "Macbeth". I also wanted to see it again because the first time around, the person who told me about it said, "don't read any reviews or anything beforehand - go without any expectations". This was my second time seeing the show, as I wanted to share the experience with my 20 year old nephew who was in town on his way to college. They're trying way to hard to be existential. could have bought 80 homeless a slice of pizza. how does that relate to turn of century them and mystery and murder? mega waste of $160. great jazz lady singing then some stupid 80's style punk band came on. we left it early and drank our angst back in the lounge. if this is just plain lack of organization, it was a total waste of money. we went to room after room and floor to floor.sometimes seeing same characters but in no particular sequence to follow the story or tale. THE workers in black mask could easily just point. but NO ONE TELLS OR SHOWS YOU WHERE TO GO AFTER THE 1ST ROOM. nice intro by the actors as you are lead in but then you're on your own. i am not an overly artsy person but i know bad. Not at all worth the money in my opinion, go see a broadway show.ĭark. Also, for the huge amount of room there is within the hotel I feel there definitely could have been more actors planted in the other rooms to keep things interesting and help disperse the crowd a bit more. There are hundred of people crowding around the actors therefore making it impossible for everyone to see what’s actually going on. There’s no speaking and I’ve seen others commenting that it’s based on Macbeth but not knowing the story of Macbeth well enough I just found it confusing. The actors didn’t do anything out of the ordinary- someone folded clothes for about 10 minutes but I stuck around hoping for something strange and out of the ordinary as I’d been promised.nothing. The hotel is grossly overcrowded and there would be roughly 2-4 actors per 100 people so the odds of seeing anything remotely interesting are slim as hoards of people follow the 1 - 2 actors around. I was so excited to experience sleep no more and wasn’t given much information about it other than I had to do it. I was sold this theatrical experience by numerous friends saying it was a ‘must do’ when in New York.
